SOLO AND ENSEMBLE
2008 Entry Procedures
I. The following must be submitted
electronically via the ONLINE entry system no later than the entry
deadline date (30 days prior to the contest):
Form 9 is prepared automatically after you have completed your entries via the “online entry”. Form 9 is accessible by you and the executive secretary. Do not mail Form 9 to the Executive Secretary; however, it is RECOMMENDED that you produce a REVIEW ENTRIES report for your use. That form can be used to double-check student’s info, music selections, and the total events entered for the respective Solo/Ensemble contest.
None of the above
forms (6, 8, 9) should be mailed. They
are received electronically by the Executive Secretary.
II. The following must be mailed or “hand-delivered”,
along with the appropriate fees, to the executive secretary by the entry
deadline (30 days prior to the contest):

2. Entry
Fees: $8.00 per soloist and/or
ensemble member. (Fee applies each
time a student enters; i.e., if a student enters a solo and an ensemble, the fee
for that student is $16.00). Note: See
below for late fee requirements.

III. The following
must be mailed or hand-delivered to the executive secretary prior
to performance:
Form 1 – Entry Form. This form is found in the ONLINE system. Follow instructions as given on the “Prepare UIL Form 1 - Entry Form” page. After completion, you must either mail or hand-deliver to the executive secretary before your students perform. This form must be signed by your administrator.

**Note: **Note: New UIL rule for 2007-2008 allows late solo and ensemble entries and mandates a late fee. That rule reads as follows:
Section 1108: (g): SOLO AND SMALL ENSEMBLE COMPETITION
(g) ADDITIONAL ENTRIES AFTER DEADLINE. ENTRIES INADVERTENTLY OMITTED MAY BE
SUBMITTED AFTER THE DEADLINE WITH THE FOLLOWING PROVISIONS:
(1) AN ENTRY MUST BE ON FILE BY THE DEADLINE.
(2) ADDITIONAL ENTRIES CAN BE SUBMITTED UP TO
THE DAY OF THE CONTEST.
(3) THE REGION EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE MAY REFUSE
ENTRY IF IT DISRUPTS THE CONTEST SCHEDULE.
(4) A LATE FEE AS DETERMINED BY THE REGION
EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE SHALL BE ASSESSED.
The late fee, as
established by the Region 16 Executive Committee is $25.00 per entrant, in
addition to the initial $8.00 entry fee.
Total fee for a late entrant: $33.00
