WORKING CALENDAR - BAND DIVISION - 2008-2009

The "tentative calendar" for Region 2 UIL Music Activities is being constructed and the following information is relative to the band division.  A starting point in constructing the calendar used dates compatible with the dates for the current year.

  Please examine and respond with regard to the recommended dates as listed below.

       WZ - Saturday - Feb 21, 2009 at Wichita Falls HS (Band and Orchestra)
       EZ - Saturday - Feb 28, 2009 at Northwest HS (Justin)
       SZ - date/site "to be determined"
       NEZ - Band/Chor S&E (tba)

  CONCERT/SIGHTREADING
  SZ HS/MS BAND CONC/SR [07-08 the date was Mar 3 - Thur]
       Recommended date - March 11, 2009 [Wed] at Anson

  NEZ 3A (early) BAND CONC/SR [07-08 date was March 3 - Wed]
       Recommended date - March 12 (3A/2A) {Thurs} at Gainesville

  CZ MS (ms that feed 5A hs) & EZ MS (ms that feed 4A hs) [07-08 dates were Apr 2 & 3 - Wed & Thur]
       Recommended date - CZ 2C3C BANDS - March 31 (Tues), 2009 at Northwest HS (Justin)
      Recommended date - EZ 2C BANDS - April 1 (Wed), 2009 at Ryan HS (Denton)

  EZ 4A/5A BAND CONC/SR [07-08 dates were Apr 8,9,10)
  Recommended date(s):
  April 7, 2009 (Tuesday) - 4A/5A SUB-NV BAND CONC/SR - at Northwest HS or Azle HS
          (This would be ONLY sub-nv bands - approximately 5 bands with bands scheduled after 4 pm for about 2 to 2 1/2 hours.
            Judges would be paid "1/2 day honorarium".)
  April 8, 2009 (Wednesday) - 4A/5A NON VARSITY BAND CONC/SR - at Northwest HS or Azle HS  
          (The 2nd day for ONLY NV bands - approximately 15 bands)
       [Sub-NV and NV day can be ONE LONG DAY or split as indicated above.  If directors want a judging panel different than the "varsity" panel, that would be acceptable.]

  April 9, 2009 (Thursday) - 4A/5A VARSITY BAND CONC/SR - at Azle HS
          (This day for ONLY VARSITY BANDS - approximately 15 bands)

  NEZ 3A (late) 1A/2A/3A BAND CONC/SR [07-08 date was Apr 3 - Thur]
       Recommended date - April 2 (Thur) {at Argyle}

  WZ 1A/2A/3A BAND CONC/SR [07-08 date was Apr 3 - Thur]
       Recommended date - April 8 (Wed) {at Vernon}
       [Thur - Apr 9 is recommended date for WZ Choral C/SR]
