WORKING CALENDAR - CHORAL DIVISION - 2008-2009

CHORAL DIRECTORS
The "tentative calendar" for Region 2 UIL Music Activities is being constructed and the following information is relative to the choral division.  A starting point in constructing the calendar is to use dates compatible with the dates for the current year.
 
Please examine and respond with regard to the recommended dates as listed below.
 
CHORAL SOLO/ENSEMBLE
EZ - Saturday - Feb 7, 2009 at Fossil Ridge HS
WZ - Saturday - Feb 28, 2009 at Wichita Falls HS
NEZ - Band/Chor S&E at Gainesville (date to be determined)
 
CONCERT/SIGHTREADING
EZ&CZ MS [07-08 the dates were Mar 6-7 - Thur & Fri] TAKS 8th grade Reading Test is on Tues - Mar 3, 2009.
If the same compatible dates are used, the 08-09 contest would be Mar 5-6...with only one day after the 8th grade TAKS test to regroup and get ready to go to contest the following day.
    Recommended date - March 11 & 12, 2009 [Wed at Denton & Thur at Saginaw]
 
EZ 3A/4A/5A [07-08 dates were April 1-2 - Tues & Wed]
Recommended date - April 15 (3A&5A) & Apr 16 (4A), 2009 {Wed & Thur}  at Central HS in Keller]
 
WZ ALL CONFERENCES [07-08 date was Apr 10 - Thur]
Recommended date - April 9, 2009 at Wichita Falls [Thursday at Hirschi HS]

Please respond ASAP so that a workable calendar can be prepared for distribution at the "Spring Meeting" at Bridgeport on Saturday, May 17, 2008 - 10:00 AM.
