Dear Friends,

Canton High School is so excited to be your host for the MS Contest on the 7th of April. When you arrive, drop your students off at the Auditorium entrance. One of our students will be there to instruct the bus driver where to park, and also direct you to your appropriate warm-up area in the small band hall.

The official UIL office is in the choir hall. You may bring your music and register as you are brought to the waiting area outside the warm-up room. (If you need to change, the restrooms in the entry of the auditorium are to be used).

Our plan is to have (7) sections of risers on the stage (3 steps) and 7 sections in the Main Band Hall for sight-reading and risers in the warm-up room (these are seated risers. The grand piano will be on the stage for your use. It can be moved to your liking by many of my students. (risers cannot be moved). There is a piano in the warm-up room for practice.

This is a new facility and rules are strictly enforced. Food, drinks, (including water) etc…. will not be permitted at any time in the auditorium at any time.

Directors please instruct your students on good concert behavior. No one is to enter or leave the auditorium during performances, no exceptions!

Also it is our school policy that we have no electronical devices on the school grounds; for the sake of each choir performing, I ask that the director take up any electronic devise before entering the school. This includes but is not limited to cell phones, lasers, ipods, video games, blackberries, ect… Also please remind your students that all performances will be recorded and the choirs need no added sound affects coming from the audience. Your help in this will be much appreciated.
